The water management of the Veender- and Lijkerpolder outside the dike
The polder is 80 centimeters lower than the Braassermermeer. Since 1924, the polder has been drained by a mechanical pumping station; before that, by the Moppemolen and the Meerkreuk mill. The Moppemolen still pumps, the Meerkreuk has been demolished.
